An existing development project has been taken over for further development and bugfixing. Laboratory data had to be collected via interfaces (external soft- and hardware). A Windows front-end provided text based and graphical views on the data for screen display or printing purposes (e.g. stickers for blood samples). Parts of the program have been implemented as Windows DLL for embedded use within other programs of the hospital information system.
A proprietary client-server protocal has been used to get the required performance for database access. The server part was written in ANSI C, the client tool in Visual C++ on Windows NT.

Within a team of ten a tool was developed to collect all domestic exchange data via FTP and analyze it within an object oriented database. Additionally Java-Applets have been developed to monitor the data centrally and provide administration functionality through the browser.
